Franklin Leroy Suders, Jr., age 77 of Marion, PA, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, February 22, 2025. Born August 22, 1947, in Chambersburg, PA, he was the son of the late Franklin Leroy and Francis Hornbaker Suders, Sr.
Mr. Suders worked as a production and planning controller at Letterkenny Army Depot for many years, retiring in 1993. After retirement he went to work for Dave’s Truck repair as a salesperson. Mr. Suders was a member of Antrim Brethren in Christ Church, the George Washington Lodge #143 of F. & A.M., a life member of the Marion Volunteer Fire Department, and member of the Marine Corps League in Chambersburg. He enjoyed playing softball, golfing, and going to the fire hall. He also enjoyed his grand dog, Camdyn and great grand dog, Ares.
Surviving is his son, Michael A. Suders (wife Kristina) of Marion, PA; grandson Austin Suders (Sydney Marasco) of Horsham, PA; and three siblings Judith Shank (Richard), Donald Suders (Kathy), and Jeff Suders. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna in 2017.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 1 PM at Antrim Brethren in Christ Church, 24 Kauffman Rd. East, Chambersburg, PA, where Pastor Casey Hurst will officiate. The family will receive friends from 11 AM until 1 PM at the above church and address. Arrangements are entrusted to the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., Greencastle, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
