Franklin Clark Barr Sr. age 73 of Hollowell Church Rd. Greencastle PA died unexpectedly Thursday, November 12, 2015 in his home.
Born April 4, 1942 on the family farm in Antrim Township, he was the son of the late Walter C. and Blanche (Angle) Barr. He married his wife Connie L. (Wetzel) Barr on March 23, 1969.
Frank was a lifelong farmer. He served in the US Air Force and was a member of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau. He enjoyed hunting and going to the hunting camp.
Surviving family in addition to his wife are four sons Curtis Barr and wife Tina of Hagerstown, Clark Barr and wife Natalie of Greencastle, Brian Barr and wife April of Waynesboro, Chad Barr and wife Nikki of South Carolina, seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, five sisters, Fern Barr Martin of Waynesboro, Connie Barr Tracey of Greencastle, Carolyn Barr Wagaman of Florida, Dorothy Barr Houpt of Greencastle and Lorraine Barr Burcker of Greencastle.
He was preceded in death by two brothers W. Ronald Barr and Robert A. Barr.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday November 19 at 11:00 AM at the Otterbein United Brethren Church 146 Leitersburg St. Greencastle with Rev. David Rawley officiating. Burial with military honors provided by the Chambersburg VFW Honor Guard will be in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg. The family will receive friends at the Otterbein United Brethren Church on Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 9:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may given to the Depression Programs of Franklin County 375 Floral Ave. Chambersburg, PA 17201.
