Frank D. Shaffer, age 85 of 13092 Grant Shook Rd. Greencastle, Pa. died unexpectedly at 11:00 P.M. on Tuesday April 29, 2008 in his home.

Born March 23, 1923 in Kempton, Md., he was the son of the late Dewey F. and Bessie P. (Fike) Shaffer.
Mr. Shaffer was the second generation owner of Shaffer Products of Greencastle from 1962 until retiring in 1984.

He was a member of the Waynesboro Dunkard Brethren Church. He was put into the ministry October 31, 1959 and the eldership May 2, 1965.

He and his late wife, Martha E. (Ebersole) Shaffer were married November 16, 1942. She died on June 21, 1999. He also enjoyed traveling and his gardening.


Surviving family are:
Two daughters Angeline (Wife of Eldon) Mallow of Clearville, Pa. and Linda Stitely of Greencastle, Pa.
Two sons, Frank E. (Husband of Janet) Shaffer of Greencastle, Pa. and Myron D. (Husband of Joyce) Shaffer of New Creek, West Virginia.

Ten grandchildren Four step-grandchildren
Sixteen great-grandchildren Ten step-great-grandchildren
Eight step great-great grandchildren

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, infant great-grandson, one sister and one brother.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday May 3 at 2:00 P.M. from the Upton Church Of The Brethren 8490 Warm Spring Rd. Greencastle with Elder Ray Stuber, Elder Marlin Marks and Minister Donald Valentine Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6 - 9 P.M. at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle and at the church one hour before the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Dunkard Brethren Church Mission Fund C/O Frank E.
