Frances M. Bartles, age 88 a resident of Menno Haven Chambersburg for nearly two years and formerly of 1115 Mason Dixon Rd. Greencastle died at 9:30 A.M. Saturday March 24, 2007 in the nursing home.
Born November 10, 1918 in State Line, Pa. she was the daughter of the late Jacob Allen and Lillie Mae (Shank) Binkley.
She worked at the former GEM Garment Co. of Greencastle and the former Stanley Co. of Chambersburg.
Mrs. Bartles was a member of the Trinity United Church Of Christ in State Line. She helped make crafts for the church bazaars and enjoyed crocheting, bowling and traveling.
She and her husband, A. Stanley Bartles were married March 12, 1938. He died November 22, 1996.
Surviving family are: one daughter, Elouise M. Statler, Mechanicsburg, Pa., one son Richard E. Bartles, Greencastle, three sisters, Elsie L. Koons, a resident of Menno Haven Chambersburg, Beulah C. Overcash, Chambersburg and Anna Belle Reeves, Merritt Island, Florida, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: three brothers, Paul Leroy Binkley, Ralph William Binkley and Harold Franklin Binkley and an infant sister Dorothea Irene Binkley.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 P.M. from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle Pa. with Rev. Edwin Higginbottom officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 7 - 9 P.M. at the funeral home.
