Evelyn G. Myers, age 88, a resident of Quincy Home and formerly of 123 West Walter Ave., Greencastle died at 5:08 P.M. on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 in the nursing home.

Born, August 1, 1920 in Waynesboro, PA she was the daughter of the late Eugene R. and Dorothy (Lear) Gift.

She and her husband, George F. Myers were married on April 6, 1940 in Hagerstown, MD. He died October 2, 1997.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Greencastle where she was formerly active with the United Methodist Church Women. She was a Life Member of the Rescue Hose Company Ladies Auxiliary of Greencastle. She was a member of the Greencastle-Antrim Senior Women''s Club and Loyal Daughters.

Mrs. Myers was a secretary at the former GEM Garment and former Leonard Spitz Company both of Greencastle. She was a 1938 graduate of the Greencastle High School.

Surviving family are, two daughters Barbara (Wife of Thomas J., Sr.) Ezolt and Sandra Leydig both of Greencastle. Seven Grandchildren, Six Great-Grandchildren and Two Great-Great Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 20, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. from the Harold M. Zimmerman & Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle with Rev. Stacy A. Crawford officiating. Burial will be in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 303, Greencastle, PA 17225.
