Evelyn Marie (Myers) Hartman, age 84 of 112 Village Square Menno Haven Chambersburg and formerly of Reeder Rd. Mercersburg died at 12:10 P.M. Saturday July 31, 2010 in the nursing center of Menno Haven.

Born August 29, 1925 in Antrim Twp., Franklin Co. Pa., she was the daughter of the late Charles A. and Martha (Gayman) Myers.

Evelyn along with her late husband owned and operated school buses for 32 years. She also was a homemaker and had worked at the former Stanley Co. Chambersburg.

She and her husband, Robert A. Hartman were married in August 1947. He died on February 15, 1991.

Evelyn was a member of the Montgomery Brethren In Christ Church near Mercersburg. She volunteered with the Gospel Tide Hour, the Christian Retreat Center Auxiliary and in the kitchen of the Salvation Army in Chambersburg for 10 years.

Surviving family are one daughter Miriam M. Baldwin, Houston, TX., three sons David R. Hartman, John A. Hartman both of Chambersburg, Pa., Daniel E. Hartman, Carlisle, Pa., six sisters, Mildred Yoder, Bellville, Pa., Anna C. Helfrick, Marion, Pa., Naomi Strite, Sparta, Wisconsin, Dorcas Gearhart, Waynesboro, Pa., Esther Kennedy, Chambersburg, Pa., Eunice Johnson, Bangor, Maine, two brothers Charles A. Myers Jr., and Glenn E. Myers, both of Greencastle, Pa., six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Melvin Myers in 1975 and a sister Grace Kennedy in 1995.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday August 5 at 11:00 A.M. from the Montgomery Brethren In Christ Church 6727 Montgomery Church Rd. Mercersburg with Rev. Dennis Ritchey and Chaplain Robert Keener officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6 - 8 P.M. at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle and at the church one hour before the service on Thursday. Memorial contributions may be given in her memory to the Gospel Tide Hour P.O.
