Evangeline "Vangie" B. (Buckwalter) Myers

Evangeline B. “Vangie” Myers, 88, of Greencastle, passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Laurel Lakes Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born October 5, 1933 in Norristown, PA she was a daughter of the late John Morris Tyson Buckwalter and Voneda Blanche Crunkleton Buckwalter. Her beloved husband, Lauren K. “Jack” Myers, preceded her in death on June 5, 2012.

Vangie was a 1951 graduate of Lemasters High School. Early in her life she was employed at Buckwalter Poultry in Upton, PA and the Stanley Company in Chambersburg. She did home study to earn her Maryland LPN license and worked at Brooklane for 30 years until her retirement. Vangie was a member of Cedar Grove Mennonite Church and the Greencastle-Antrim Women’s Club.

She is survived by her son, William C. “Bill” Myers of Greencastle; one grandson, Michael A. Myers (wife Marie) of Crowley, TX; two great grandchildren, Micah Myers and Chloe Urbani; four siblings, Louise Dean of Canada, Laverne Buckwalter (wife Jean) of SC, Eunice Bassett (husband Jack) of MI, and Mark Buckwalter (wife Fran) of Lancaster. In addition to her parents and husband, Vangie was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Dawn Evangeline Myers; and three siblings, Lee Buckwalter, Donald Buckwalter and Caroline Stoltzfus.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Interment will be in Cedar Grove Mennonite Church Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Greencastle, PA.
