Eugene Paul Myers, age 88 of Maryland Line Road Greencastle, PA died at 6:10 AM Saturday, December 6, 2014 in his home.

Born January 25, 1926 in Antrim Twp., Franklin County, PA, he was the son of the late Roy and Hazel (Keller) Myers. He married Barbara Alice “June” (Davis) Myers on December 12, 1947 in Hagerstown.
In his earlier years he worked at the former Western Maryland Railroad and then he was in the trucking business for 50 years having worked for the former Frey Coal Co. and Agronomy both of Mercersburg.
Eugene was a member of the Pleasant Hill United Brethren Church of Coseytown. He was a member of the Harry D. Zeigler V.F.W. Post #6319 and the Frank L. Carbaugh American Legion Post #373, both of Greencastle, and a member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Chapter 78 of Chambersburg.  Eugene was a veteran of World War II having served in the US Navy.
He enjoyed traveling, camping, boating, hunting and was loved by his family, friends and grandchildren. Eugene was a veteran of World War II having served in the US Navy.

In addition to his wife family surviving are two daughters Lucille Marie Myers McCanuel and husband John of Colorado, Judy Ann Angle and husband Gary of Greencastle, one brother Kenneth Myers of Greencastle, one sister Mary Chamberlin of Greencastle, four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one grandson Kevin McCanuel and one brother Raymond Myers.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday December 10 at 1:00 PM from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Pastors Douglas Sandman and  Lester Kauffman officiating. Burial with military honors provided by the Chambersburg V.F.W. Post #1599 Honor Guard will be in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the service on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in his memory to the Pleasant Hill United Brethren Church 3664 Coseytown Rd. Greencastle, PA 17225 or to Lutheran Home Care And Hospice 2700 Luther Dr. Chambersburg, PA 17202. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.zimmermanfh.com
