Esther M. Weber, age 84 a resident of the Mennonite Home of Maugansville, Md. and formerly of Smithsburg, Md. died at 1:10 P.M. Wednesday February 6, 2008 in the home.
Born June 2, 1923 in Maugansville, Md., she was the daughter of the late Edgar M. and Ada H. (Martin) Weber.
She did domestic and housekeeping work and was employed at the Brook Lane Center of Hagerstown and at the Mennonite Home. Miss Weber was a member of Stouffers Mennonite Church near Smithsburg, Md.
Surviving family are:
One sister, Naomi (Wife of Lewis) Horst, of Hagerstown, Md.
One foster brother, Jonathan M. Martin, Chambersburg, Pa.
Four nieces and nine nephews and a number of great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: two brothers, Adin M. Weber, Lewis M. Weber, her step-mother Edna (Diller) Weber Martin in October 2006, one niece, two nephews and one great-nephew.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday February 9 at 2:00 P.M. from the Reiff Mennonite Church near Cearfoss, Md. with the Stouffers Mennonite Church Ministry officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Reiff Mennonite Church this evening from 6 - 8 P.M. and one hour before the service on Saturday. The family requests that flowers be omitted. Arrangements were handled by the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home of Greencastle.
