Esther J. (Shank) Martin, age 74 of 12185 Scott Rd. (Box 113) Zullinger, PA. died at 12:00 A.M. Sunday, April 24, 2011 in her home. She had been in declining health the past few years.

Born May 19, 1936 in Washington County, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Rosie (Smith) Shank.

She had been employed at the former Regency Thermographers of Waynesboro from 1968 - 1996.

She was a member of the Marion Mennonite Church. Esther was a graduate of Boonsboro High School. She enjoyed reading and was a NASCAR fan.

She and her husband, Thurman Charles Martin were married June 29, 1957 in Hagerstown.

Surviving family in addition to her husband are three sons Michael L. Martin, Zullinger, Larry E. Martin, North Lauderdale, Florida, David R. Martin, Chambersburg, two grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.

The last of her immediate family, she was preceded in death by four brothers Omer Shank, Russell Shank, Donald Shank, Raymond Shank, three sisters Hazel Smith, Frances Seibert and Agnes Moore.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday April 28 at 10:00 A.M. from the Marion Mennonite Church 4365 Molly Pitcher Hwy. South Chamberbsurg with Rev. Carl D. Kniss officiating. Burial will be in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg. The family will receive friends at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle on Wednesday evening from 6 - 8 P.M. and one hour before the service on Thursday. Memorial contributions may be given in her memory to the Building Fund of Marion Mennonite Church 4365 Molly Pitcher Hwy. South Chambersburg, PA. 17202.
