Emma Marie (Steiger) Uccellini

Emma Marie (Steiger) Uccellini, age 92 of Apple Dr. Greencastle died at 6:10 PM Friday, September 23, 2016 in ManorCare Health Services Chambersburg where she had resided for 2 days. Born August 31, 1924 in Amityville, Long Island, New York, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Marie (Bhiesa) Steiger.  She married her husband Frederick W. Uccellini Sr. on October 22, 1944. He died on March 6, 2002.

Emma was a homemaker and also assisted her late husband in the operation of his business Uccellini Manufacturing formerly of Greencastle.

She was a charter member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church of Greencastle. She was a charter member, served as the first president and was active on various committees of the Greencastle-Antrim Lioness Club. She was also a member of the local chapter of the Red Hat Society and attended their activities and was a member of the Greencastle-Antrim Loyal Daughters. Emma was a graduate of Lindenhurst High School in Lindenhurst, NY.

Surviving family are one son Frederick W. Uccellini Jr. of Greencastle, one grandson, Fred W. Uccellini III and his wife Kristen of Greencastle, two great-granddaughters, Madison Marie Uccellini and Kaitlyn Elizabeth Uccellini and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son Robert Uccellini who died in 1990 and by seven brothers and    sisters.

A Christian Wake Service will be held on Saturday October 1 at 10:00 AM from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Father Kyle Sahd officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.
