Emma “Mae” Duffey, age 99, of Waynesboro, PA passed away peacefully surrounded by her two daughter’s at her daughter Judy’s home on Monday, October 3, 2022. Born September 1, 1923, in Welsh Run, PA, she was the daughter of the late Daniel H. Bingaman, Sr. and Frances Hartford Bingaman.
Mrs. Duffey was a friend to everyone, she will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Mrs. Duffey had attended the former Brown’s Mill School. She worked at the former Stanley Company prior to working at Sunnyway Foods for 20 years, retiring in 1984 as a Baker. She was a member of Calvary Assembly of God Church in Waynesboro, where she was a part of the Women’s Sewing Ministry, she taught Sunday School, participated in the visitation committee, and was a Missonette Leader.In retirement she and her late husband worked at the Courthouse as Tip Staff. Mrs. Duffey enjoyed fishing, camping, reading her Bible, trips to the beach, sewing, flower gardening, baking and spending time with family.
Surviving are two children, Judy M. Blubaugh of Waynesboro, PA, and Peggy L. Jones (Bill) of Waynesboro, PA; four grandsons, Ben Jones, Jamie Jones, Tim Duffey, Joel Duffey; seven great-grandsons, Joshua Duffey, Jake Duffey, Jaden Duffey, Micah Jones, Silas Jones, Elijah Jones, Parker Duffey; two great-granddaughters, Olivia Duffey and Morgan Duffey, three step- grandchildren, Colleen Shatzer, Maureen Elmore, Bill Blubaugh; two step-great-grandchildren Quincy Blubaugh and Elliot Blubaugh; and a daughter–in-law, Norma Duffey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Paul E. Duffey Sr.; a son, Paul E. Duffey, Jr.; great-grandson, Justin Duffey; son-in-law, Dean Blubaugh; six brothers, Claude, Daniel, Jr., Merle, Ellis, Donald, and Harold Bingaman; and one sister, Pauline “Lena” Myers.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October, 10 2022, at 1PM at Calvary Assembly of God Church, 116 Snider Ave. Waynesboro, PA, where Rev. Dwan Newsome will officiate. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 9, 2022, from 6 – 8 PM in the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., 45 South Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA 17225 and one hour prior to the service at the above church. Interment will follow the service in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Wycliffe Bible Translators, P.O. Box 628200, Orlando, FL 32862.
