Elvin M. Hege, age 85 a resident of the Mennonite Fellowship Home 12349 Huyett Lane Hagerstown, Md. died at 5:55 A.M. Tuesday August 7, 2007 in the home.

Born October 20, 1921 in Washington County Maryland, he was the son of the late Henry E. and Naomi H. (Martin) Hege.

He worked as a mason in home building. Mr. Hege was a member of the Hagerstown Mennonite Fellowship Church.
His first wife, Dorothy Mae (Lehman) Hege died March 24, 1993.

He and his second wife, Vera Horst Hege a resident of the Mennonite Fellowship Home were married on May 20, 1995.

Surviving family in addition to his wife are:

Three daughters, Esther (Wife Of Harold) Showalter of Greencastle, Pa., Anna Lois (Wife Of Mike) Beverly of Eustis Florida and Mary Lou (Wife Of Mark) Landis of South Boston Virginia

Three Sons, Clair L. (Husband Of Shirley) Hege of Stockbridge Georgia, Dr. Darvin L.(Husband Of Marsha) Hege of Atlanta Georgia and Joseph L. Hege of Oviedo, Florida

Two sisters, Retha Strite and Naomi Martin, both of Hagerstown, Md.

One Brother, Omar Hege, Hagerstown, Md.

Sixteen Grandchildren Five Great-Grandchildren

He was preceded in death by a sister Rachel Wildeson and a brother Henry Hege.

Funeral services will be held on Friday morning at 10:00 A.M. from the Mount Olive Mennonite Church on Maugansville Rd. Maugansville, Md. with Ministers Ralph Horst, Nelson Weber and Daniel Halteman officiating. Burial will be in the Hagerstown Mennonite Fellowship Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Mount Olive Mennonite Church on Thursday evening from 6 - 8 P.M. and one hour before the service on Friday. The family requests that flowers be omitted and memorial contributions be given to Hospice Of Washington County 747 Northern Ave. Hagerstown, Md. 21740 or to the Mennonite Fellowship Home 12349 Huyett Lane Hagerstown, Md. 21740. Arrangements were handled by the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home of Greencastle, Pa.
