Elva M. Stouffer

Elva M. Stouffer, age 77, of Clearview Avenue Ephrata PA and formerly of Greencastle, PA met with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, October 20th, 2015.

Born July 16, 1938 in Greencastle, PA she was the daughter of the late David L. and Rhoda (Diller) Martin.

Elva had worked at the former Greencastle Dry Cleaners, Rocky Ridge Market in State Line, Sunnyway Foods of Greencastle, the former Stanley Company of Chambersburg and retired from Menno Haven of Chambersburg. She was a lifetime member of the Cedar Grove Mennonite Church near Greencastle.

Elva enjoyed cooking and reading, although her greatest joy was her family, especially grandchildren and great- grandchildren.

Surviving family are three daughters, Carol Davis and husband Gary of Ephrata, PA and formerly of Greencastle, Jo Stouffer and husband J. Thomas of Mercersburg, Sue Thompson and husband Jerry of Greencastle, three sisters; Isabel Bumbaugh of Maugansville, MD, Lovina Baer  and Wilma Martin both of Greencastle; two brothers, Elwood Martin  of State Line, PA,
Warren Martin of Mercersburg, eight grandchildren and fifteen great- grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother Rev. Nelson Martin, one sister Vera (Martin) Kuhns and one infant granddaughter Randi-Jo Stitely.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday October 24 from 10:00 -11:30 AM at the Cedar Grove Mennonite Church 13343 Williamsport Pike Greencastle. A celebration service of Elva’s life will immediately follow the visitation with her nephew Dennis Kuhns officiating.    Interment will be at the convenience of the family in the adjoining church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the March of Dimes 3544 N Progress Avenue, Suite 204, Harrisburg, PA, 17110 (www.marchofdimes.org) or to the American Lung Association 3001 Gettysburg Rd, Camp Hill, PA 17011 (www.lung.org).
