Elizabeth (Kershner) Shoemaker, age 88 a resident of the Masonic Village of Elizabethtown, Pa. and formerly of Chantilly Court Hagerstown, Md. died at 12:20 A.M. Tuesday, November 23, 2010 in the nursing center of the Masonic Village.

She and her husband, John K. Shoemaker were married June 16, 1984 in Hagerstown. He died on December 18, 2009.

Elizabeth was born December 22, 1921 in Greencastle, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Martha (Whitmore) Kershner.

She had worked at the former Leiter Bros. Store in Hagerstown, Potomac Edison Co. and as the manager of the Sharpsburg Bank. She was a graduate of 1939 Greencastle High School and attended Hagerstown Business School. Elizabeth was a member of the St. Paul''s Episcopal Church in Sharpsburg, Md. where she had served as church treasurer. She was a member and past matron of the Hagerstown Chapter of the Eastern Star and was a member of the Sharpsburg Lioness Club.

Surviving family are a step daughter Cynthia Mae (Husband Robert) Rossi, Lancaster, PA., three nephews Joe Kershner, Carroll Ommert, Ray Easterday and one niece Alice Hayward. She was preceded in death by her first husband Thomas E. "Ned" Crampton, brother J. Harold Kershner and sisters Anna Belle Ommert and Alice M. Easterday.

Funeral services will be held on Monday November 29 at 10 A.M. from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Rev. John Allfriend officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6 - 8 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given in her name to the Masonic Home One Masonic Dr. Elizabethtown, Pa. 17022 or to the Alzheimers Association 3544 North Progress Ave. Suite 205 Harrisburg, Pa. 17110.
