Edward N. Jakoby, age 92 of 141 N. Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA, died at 8:30 AM, Thursday, March 8th, 2007 at The Village Of Laurel Run, Fayetteville, PA where he had been a resident for the past two weeks.
Born February 12, 1915 in Perkiomen, PA he was the son of the late Julius and Hermina (Krasztl) Jakoby.
He and his wife, Leah Lucille (Eisenberger) Jakoby were married November 25, 1937.
Mr. Jakoby retired in 1978 after 37 years from the former Fairchild Aircraft of Hagerstown were he worked as a Millwright.
In his younger years he was an active member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Chambersburg after moving to Greencastle was an active member of St. Mark The Evangelist Catholic Church, Greencastle.
In his earlier years he competed as an amateur boxer and was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps having worked at Cowans Gap State Park. In his youth he was active in Boy Scouts.

Two Daughters, Phyllis (Jakoby) Miller and Christine (Jakoby) Layman both of Greencastle, PA.
One Son, Ronald Jakoby of Hagerstown, MD.
One Brother, Frank Jakoby of Red Hill, PA.
One Sister, Helen Wampole of Red Hill, PA.
Ten Grandchildren and Nineteen Great Grandchildren
He was preceded in death by a daughter Carole Jakoby in 1968, one brother Julius Jakoby and two sisters Katie Mayer and Hermina Kline.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 13th at 10:00 A.M. from the St. Mark The Evangelist Catholic Church, 385 S. Ridge Ave. Greencastle, PA. with Rev. Joseph L. Stahura officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle, PA. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6-8 P.M. at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA.
