Edna M. (Myers) Kershner, age 96 and a resident of Penn Hall Nursing Center in Chambersburg, PA and formerly of State Line, PA died at 9:29 A.M. Monday, May 18, 2015 in the nursing center. She was a lifetime resident of State Line from 1918-2011.

Born August 24, 1918 in State Line, PA she was the daughter of the late Aaron and Leila (Hartle) Myers. She married Walter L. Kershner on March 10, 1945. He died March 2, 2015.

Edna was a 1936 graduate of Greencastle High School. She worked at the former Stanley Co. in Chambersburg and retired from the Greencastle-Antrim School District where she worked for 17 years as a secretary in the Greencastle Elementary School.
Edna was a lifetime member of the Trinity United Church of Christ in State Line where she was a Sunday School teacher, choir member and served with various church service groups. She was a member of the State Line Ruritan Club Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting and her church activities.

Surviving family are one son Dennis L. Kershner and wife Suzanne of Woodstock, MD, two grandchildren, Julie Canfield and husband Brad and Stephen Kershner and wife Ann, two great-grandchildren Jake and Kyle Canfield.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters Emma Brumbaugh, Helen Rowland and Ethel Rathbone.

A private funeral service will be held at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home of Greencastle at the convenience of the family with Chaplain Adam Leeper officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle. There will be no public viewing. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in her memory to the Penn Hall Benevolent Care Fund 1425 Philadelphia Ave. Chambersburg, PA 17201.
