Edith M. Miller
Edith M. (Berger) Miller, age 94 of Zarger Rd. Greencastle, PA died at 8:30 PM Sunday May 15, 2016 in the Waynesboro Hospital.
Born May 1, 1922 in Waynesboro, PA, she was the daughter of the late Denton and Edith C. (Oberholzer) Berger. She married Melchor D. “Meck” Miller on May 10, 1940 in Westminster, MD. He died on August 13, 2008.
Edith was a homemaker and a member of the Antrim Brethren In Christ Church near Chambersburg where she was a member of the New Berean Sunday School Class and the Sewing Circle. She and her husband enjoyed traveling and spending the winter months in Florida.
She enjoyed being with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Her hobbies included gardening, flowers and doing puzzles.
Surviving family are seven daughters , Connie (Harold) Keller, Deb (Dan) Layton, Betty Ann Fike, Bonnie (Bob) Overend, all of Greencastle, PA, Jean (Norm) Blubaugh, Pam (Dwayne) Wingert and Lori (Mike) Ensminger, all of Chambersburg, PA, eight sons, Robert (Ellen) Miller, Larry (Barb) Miller, Richard (Dena) Miller, Kim (Bonnie) Miller, Doug Miller and Mark (Angie) Miller, all of Greencastle, PA, Ronald (Linda) Miller, Hurt, VA and Jeff (Connie) Miller, Erie, PA., 33 grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, 16 step-great-grandchildren ,4 great-great grandchildren, 2 step great-great grandchildren, one sister, Beulah Harshman of Greencastle, PA, two sisters-in-law, Bernice Berger of Waynesboro and Betty Danzberger of Chambersburg and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son Brian Lynn Miller in 1963, one granddaughter, two great-grandchildren, five brothers and five sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday May 19 at 1:00 PM at the Antrim Brethren In Christ Church 24 East Kauffman Rd. Chambersburg, PA with Rev. Ky Searcy officiating. Burial will be in the Green Hill Cemetery in Waynesboro. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be given in her memory to the Compassion Fund at Antrim Brethren In Christ Church 24 East Kauffman Rd.
