Dorothy Virginia Tresler, age 77 of Coles Valley Acres, P.O. Box 75 Waterfall, Pa. and formerly a long time resident of State Line, Pa. died at 2:47 A.M. Sunday June 24, 2007 in her home.

Born November 7, 1929 in Hagerstown, Md. she was the daughter of the late Charles and Ruth (Knodle) Showe.
She was employed at Corning Glass Works of Greencastle for 18 years and retired in 1986.

Mrs. Tresler was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Harry D. Zeigler V.F.W. Post #6319 and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Frank L. Carbaugh American Legion Post #373 , both of Greencastle.

She also was a member of the Order Of The Amaranth Falling Spring Court # 139 of Chambersburg and a member of the Valley Cedarettes of Shippensburg. Mrs. Tresler was past treasurer of the Fraternal Order Of Eagles #4426 of Broad Top Pa.

She and her husband Frank Melvin Tresler were married August 26, 1961 in Lake Tahoe, Nevada.

Surviving family in addition to her husband are:

One Son, Ronald E. Shafer, Neelyton, Pa., One Daughter, Sharon L. Shafer, Fairfield, Pa.

Two Step-children, Brenda Loveless of Waldorf, Md. and Deborah Paris of Owings Mills, Md.

Six Grandchildren Nine Great-grandchildren Several Nieces

She was preceded in death by: two sisters, Geraldine Scuffins and Janie Rubeck, one granddaughter Christie Stevens.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday morning at 11:00 A.M. from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle, Pa. with Rev. David L. Moore officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6 - 8 P.M. The Ladies Auxiliary of the Harry D. Zeigler V.F.W. will hold a memorial service eon Tuesday at 7 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in her memory to the Home Nursing Agency Hospice Program 201 Chestnut Ave. P.O. Box 352 Altoona, Pa. 16603-0352.
