Dorothy P. (Crider) Stouffer, age 93, formerly of Chambersburg, PA died Saturday evening October 28, 2017 in Messiah Village Mechanicsburg, PA.

Born February 20, 1924 in McConnellsburg, Fulton County, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Hendershot) Crider. She married her husband Glenn H. Stouffer on February 4, 1946 in Chambersburg. He died on August 28, 2003.

Dorothy was a lifelong homemaker. She was a graduate of the former St. Thomas High School. She was a member of the Solomon’s United Church of Christ near Chambersburg, where she sang on the church choir and was a member of the Women’s Group. Her hobbies and interests included gardening, baking, crocheting and quilting.

Surviving family are three sons, Terry L. Stouffer and wife Debra of Mechanicsburg, PA, Gary D. Stouffer and fiancée Shelle Stehle of Chambersburg, PA, Dale L. Stouffer and wife Kelly of Coral Springs, FL, one sister, Madeline Kuhn of Marion, PA, two brothers Virgil Crider of Mercersburg, PA, Fred Crider of Nottingham, PA, fourteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister Louise Skelly.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday November 4 at 3:00 PM at the Solomon’s United Church of Christ 1594 Swamp Fox Rd. Chambersburg, PA with Rev. Peter W. Emig officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg. There will be no viewing. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in her memory to the Solomon’s United Church of Christ 1594 Swamp Fox Rd. Chambersburg, PA 17202.
