Dorothy E. (Crunkleton) Statler, age 93 of 217 South Washington St. Greencastle, Pa. died at 1:25 P.M. Sunday, November 29, 2009 in her home where she has resided her entire 93 years.

Born November 11, 1916 in Greencastle, Pa., she was the daughter of the late George W. and Maude (McClanahan) Crunkleton.

She and her husband, Kenneth Carl Statler were married May 1, 1937 in Lemasters. He died on December 31, 2008.

Mrs. Statler owned Dot''s Beauty Shop in Greencastle and also worked at the former Barnhart''s Flower & Gift Shop in Greencastle.

She was a 1935 graduate of Greencastle High School and a 1936 graduate of Maranillo Beauty Culture School in Philadelphia. She was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Greencastle and the former Womens Bible Class, former member of the Senior Womens Club and Ladies Auxiliary of the Greencastle V.F.W. Post #6319. She enjoyed her flower garden and loved animals.

Family surviving are two nephews Darryl Crunkleton, Greencastle and Ronald Crunkleton, Florida and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday December 3 at 10:00 A.M. from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home of Greencastle with Rev. Martin Horn and Rev. Donald Bohn officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle. There will be no public viewing. Memorial contributions may be given to Antietam Humane Society 8513 Lyons Rd. Waynesboro, Pa. 17268 or to the Memorial Fund of the Evangelical Lutheran Church 130 N. Washington St. Greencastle, Pa. 17225. Online condolences may be expressed at www.zimmermanfh.com
