Dorothy M. (Bricker) Ramer, age 89 of Chambersburg, PA died at 6:35 AM Saturday, November 2, 2013 in the Chambersburg Hospital.

Born March 21, 1924 in St. Thomas Twp. Franklin County, PA, she was the daughter of the late David Meyers and Anna Elizabeth (Shuman) Bricker. Her husband Charles H. Ramer died on February 22, 1986.

Dorothy retired from the Chambersburg Area School District where she worked as a cafeteria supervisor. She was a member of the St. James United Brethren Church near Chambersburg. She had served as a Sunday School teacher and youth leader.

Dorothy was a graduate of the former St. Thomas High School. She enjoyed going camping and playing scrabble.

Surviving family are two daughters Dorothy Jones and husband Ronald, Debra Long and husband Mark, all of Chambersburg, three sons, David Ramer and wife Frances of Chambersburg, Richard Ramer of St. Thomas, Jacob Ramer and wife Sherry of Chambersburg, thirteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three step-brothers, four step-sisters and one great-grandson.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday November 6 at 10:00 AM from the St. James United Brethren Church 2404 Warm Spring Rd. Chambersburg with Rev. Murray Stevens officiating. Burial will be in the St. Thomas Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6 – 8 PM at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle. There will be no viewing at the church on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Samaritan’s Purse , Attn: Donor Ministries P.O. Box 3000 Boone, NC 28607.
