Dorothy L. (Pisle) Murray, age 90 formerly of State Line, PA died at 6:15 AM Monday, November 4, 2013 in the Falling Spring Nursing And Rehabilitation Center Chambersburg where she had resided for nearly one year.
Born February 6, 1923 in Antrim Twp., Franklin County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Eber and Hazel (Helman) Pisle. Her husband John E. Murray died December 11, 1984.
Dorothy retired in 1985 from the former Stanley Co. of Chambersburg. She also had worked part time for chiropractor Dr. Evon Barvinchack of Greencastle. She was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Greencastle and the Mason-Dixon Historical Society of State Line. She attended the Browns Mill School. Dorothy enjoyed gardening, her daily walks and being with her grandchildren.
Surviving family are two sons Richard E. and wife Linda (Everts) Murray, Eber E. and wife Nancy (Garling) Murray all of Greencastle, two daughters, Dorothy M. and husband Carl Eshleman of Greencastle, Cynthia A. and husband Raymond Oberholzer of Boonsboro, MD, fifteen grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, eight step-great-grandchildren and one sister Doris Pisle of Menno Haven, Chambersburg.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister Janet Pisle and two brothers Eugene Pisle and Garnet Pisle.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday November 7 at 10:30 AM from the Evangelical Lutheran Church 130 North Washington St. Greencastle with Rev. Martin H. Horn officiating. Burial will be in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6 – 8 PM at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle and at the church one hour before the service on Thursday.
