Dorothy Margaret Hirneisen, age 89 of Joy Dr. Greencastle, PA and formerly a long time resident of Reinholds, PA died at 10:05 P.M. Sunday, August 19, 2012 in Manor Care Health Services of Chambersburg, PA.
Born January 3, 1923 in Reading, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Florence (Anderson) Herzog.
She married Dallas C. Hirneisen on January 26, 1946. He died on June 2, 2003.
Dorothy worked at the former Dutchmaid Clothing. in Ephrata., PA. She was a 1940 graduate of Reading High School.
She was a member of the Swamp Lutheran Church of Reinholds and attended Calvary Bible Church of Greencastle. She enjoyed being a homemaker and playing bingo.
Surviving family are one son Douglass (wife Janice) Hirneisen of Greencastle, PA, two grandsons Jeremy Hirneisen, Greencastle, PA, Todd Hirneisen, Gettysburg, PA and five great-grandchildren. She was the last of her immediate family.
A private memorial service will be held at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Pastor Richard Overcash officiating. Interment will be held at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Sinking Spring, PA at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in her memory to the Calvary Bible Church 3845 Buchanan Trail West Greencastle, PA 17225.
