Dora C. (Mourer) Miller

Dora C. (Mourer) Miller, age 96 of Greencastle, PA died at 10:25 PM Friday, November 22, 2013 in the Falling Spring Nursing And Rehabilitation Center Chambersburg where she had been a resident since October 11. Born December 20, 1916 near Upton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Peter Eby and Mary Elizabeth (Hawbaker) Mourer. Her husband Reginald R. Miller died November 21, 1981. Dora had worked at the former GEM Garment Co. of Greencastle, Stanley Co. of Chambersburg and Hygreen Garment of Mercersburg. She was of the United Brethren faith and had attended the former Lemasters High School. Dora enjoyed traveling, flowers, and she worked in her vegetable garden until she was age 93. Surviving family are two daughters Betty J. Rowe and Linda K. Miller, both of Greencastle, one son George M. Miller and wife Mary Lou of Greencastle, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and several nieces. She was preceded in death by a son Donald E. Miller in 2005 and by five sisters and one brother. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday November 26 at 11:00 AM from the Parklawns Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg with Rev. Gayle L. Ruble Sr. officiating. There will be no public viewing or visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in her memory to the Antietam Humane Society 8513 Lyons Rd.
