Donna R. (Royer) Bear

Donna R. Bear, age 79, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Sunday, December 24 2023, at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born in Renova, PA on June 8, 1944, she was the daughter of the late John V. Royer and M. Lorraine Clopper Royer.

Mrs. Bear was a 1962 graduate of James Buchanan High School. Mrs. Bear had worked at the former Stanley Company and retired from the South Mountain Restoration Center, after 20 years of service. She was a member of the former Upton United Church of Christ Church. She enjoyed Sudoku, cooking, going to North Carolina to visit, and chatting with her neighbors.

Surviving are three daughters, Rebecca Fisher (husband Robert) of Salisbury, NC, Deborah Bear of Chambersburg, PA, and Cathy Bettencourt (Tim) of Chambersburg, PA; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three siblings, Sue Royer of Mercersburg, PA, Deborah Ferrier, of Crawford, CO, and John “Jay” Royer of Mercersburg, PA.

Services and interment will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., Greencastle, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
