Donald E. Stone
Mr. Donald Eugene Stone, 65, of Greencastle, died Sunday afternoon, March 11, 2012, at his residence. He was the husband of Mrs. June E. Mumma Stone, whom he married on September 22, 2011.
Born September 22, 1946, in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late Lloyd Romaine and Lena Blanche Strait Stone. He was a 1965 graduate of North Hagerstown High School; and veteran of the United States Navy.
Mr. Stone retired from Mack Truck, Hagerstown, where he worked from 1969-2002.
He was an active member of his church, Macedonia United Brethren in Christ Church, Greencastle; and attended Virginia Avenue Church of God, Hagerstown; and was very supportive of Antietam Humane Society, Waynesboro, Pennsylvania.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his step-daughter, Kristina Mumma of Hagerstown; and grandchildren Nicole and Sarah; as well as brothers Ronald Lee Stone and wife Darlene of Waynesboro, and Lloyd "Buddy" Stone and wife Deborah of Hagerstown; several nieces, nephews and cousins; special friend Daryl Shaffer of Greencastle; and his "babies" Sammy, Billy and Angel.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Stone was preceded in death by his first spouse Betty L. Stone; and his step-son Albert "Jay" Mumma.
Friends may call at Harold M. Zimmerman & Son Funeral Home, 45 South Carlisle Street, Greencastle, Thursday, March 15, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be from his church, Macedonia United Brethren in Christ Church, Greencastle on Friday, March 16 at 11:00 A.M. The Rev. L. Ruble will officiate, assisted by Rev. A. Paul Harne of Virginia Avenue Church of God. Vocal selections will be offered by Rev. David Grove of Ebenezer (Guitners) United Brethren Church, Greencastle. Interment will in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle.
