Donald R. Myers, age 88, of Greencastle, PA passed away at 9:10 AM Tuesday July 26, 2016 at Menno Haven in Chambersburg.
Born January 9, 1928 in Antrim Twp., Franklin County, PA, he was the son of the late James B. and Lena Mae (Harbaugh) Myers. He married Betty E. (Everhart) Myers on June 30, 1948.

Don retired from the Western Maryland Railroad after 44 years of employment having worked as a car man, on the wrecking crew and as an inspector at Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg. He was a faithful part-time employee of the Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home and had also worked at the former Minnich-Miller Funeral Home both in Greencastle.

He last attended the Grace Bible Church and had previously attended the old Calvary Bible Church, both of Greencastle. Don was a member of the Harry D. Zeigler V.F.W. Post #6319 and the Frank L. Carbaugh American Legion Post #373, both of Greencastle. He was a member of the Greencastle Sportsman Association and really enjoyed hunting and fishing. Don was a US Navy veteran of World War II.

Surviving family in addition to his wife of 68 years are one daughter Sherry K. Mellott and husband Dick of Greencastle, one son, Dennis L. Myers and wife Judy of Greencastle, three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two great-great- grandchildren, one sister Beverly Cleary and husband Jack of Summerville, SC and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother James Myers Jr.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 29 at 11:00 AM at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home of Greencastle with Rev. Herm Fisler officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Grace Bible Church Building Fund 2327 Hoffman Rd. Greencastle, PA 17225. Online condolences may be expressed at www.zimmermanfh.com
