Donald F. Dunning, age 70 of Greencastle, PA died at 11:05 PM on Friday, June 3, 2016 in his home. He had been in declining health for the past several months.

Born July 12, 1945 in Wellsville, NY, he was the son of the late Francis and Beatrice (Cowles) Dunning. He married his wife Joanne (Martin) Dunning on November 8, 2003.
Donald was employed as plant manager of Globe Lift Equipment Co. in New York and also in Salisbury, MD.
He attended the Greencastle Church of the Brethren, member of the Greencastle V.F.W. Post #6319, Greencastle American Legion Post #373 and the Mercersburg Moose Lodge #1790.

He served as a volunteer at the Chambersburg Hospital. Donald was a US Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and was a graduate of Scio Central High School in Scio, NY.
His first wife, Barbara (Jurge) Dunning died on October 29, 2002.

Surviving family in addition to his wife are one son Adam F. Dunning of Mardela Springs, MD, two sisters, Linda Trask of Wellsville, NY, Elizabeth Eastwood of Virginia, four grandchildren, three step-children, Robert Raker of Ohio, Tammy Stull of Mercersburg, PA, Melissa Bowen of Greencastle, PA, eight step-grandchildren and one step-great-granddaughter.

In addition his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by two children, Nancy Jean Dunning, Jason Lee Dunning and one sister Kathleen Treusdell.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday June 8 at 11:00 AM at the Greencastle Church of the Brethren 36 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle, PA with Rev. Leon Yoder officiating. Burial with military honors provided by the Chambersburg V.F.W. Post #1599 Honor Guard will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Greencastle, PA The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle PA and at the church one hour before the service on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in his memory to the SpiriTrust Lutheran Home Care and Hospice 2700 Luther Dr. Chambersburg, PA 17202 or to the Wounded Warrior Project
