Deloris J. "Jeannie" Jimick

Deloris J. “Jeannie” Jimick, age 82, of Greencastle, PA, passed away on Monday, January 18, 2021, at Rodger’s Personal Care Home in Chambersburg, PA following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Born March 15, 1938, in Shepherdstown, WV, she was the daughter of the late Adam Leslie and Lucy Elizabeth Griffith Kidwiler.

Mrs. Jimick was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Greencastle and of the Lutheran Women’s Group. The Matriarch in her family, her greatest joy was caring for and loving her children and grandchildren. An amazing cook and baker, she also enjoyed crafts, sewing, ceramics and travel.

Surviving is her husband of 59 years, Allen S. Jimick, whom she married on June 29, 1961; three daughters, Kathy J. Myers of Chambersburg, PA, Karen S. Hetrick (husband John) of Greencastle, PA, and Sally Jo Harmon (husband Daniel) of Chambersburg, PA; four grandchildren, Zachary Myers (wife Bianca) of KY, Adam Harmon of Chambersburg, PA, Shelby Harmon of Chambersburg, PA, and Caitlyn Hetrick of New York City, NY; and a great-granddaughter, Lily Myers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three siblings, Adam Kidwiler, Bertie Hockman, and William Kidwiler.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, January 22, 2021, at 1 PM at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle, PA, where Rev. Barbara Barry will officiate.  Arrangements are entrusted to the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., Greencastle, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to SpiriTrust Lutheran Hospice, 2700 Luther Dr., Chambersburg, PA 17202.
