Dolores Brandt Burkholder

Dolores Louise Burkholder, age 91, of Greencastle, PA, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025, at her home with her daughter by her side. Born July 19, 1933, in St. Thomas Township, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles H. and Annie Florence Ommert Brandt.

Mrs. Burkholder was a 1951 graduate of the former St. Thomas High School. She went on to work for the former Stanley Company and then on to Sunnyway Foods as a cook for 21 years, from 1987until her retirement in 2008. She was a member of First Church in Greencastle. Mrs. Burkholder enjoyed cooking, baking, and quilting. She especially enjoyed quilting with the Hands of Love at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Greencastle and making cage comforters for the local animal shelters as well as lap quilts for nursing homes.

She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Elliott of Greencastle, PA and numerous nieces. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Burkholder in 1987 and three siblings, W. Melvin Brandt, M. Pauline Overcash, and Mabel P. Myers.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at 2 PM in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle, PA, where Pastor Ken Acres will officiate. Arrangements are entrusted to the Harold M.
