David C. Ramer

David  C. Ramer, age 70 of Chambersburg, PA died unexpectedly Sunday morning August 30, 2015 in the Chambersburg Hospital.

Born January 7, 1945 in Chambersburg, PA, he was the son of the late Charles H. and Dorothy M. (Bricker) Ramer.

He retired from Mack Truck of Hagerstown with 30 years of service and also owned Ramer’s Small Engine Repair. Dave had served as a Supervisor and Road Master for St. Thomas Township and was currently employed at Shank’s Lawn Equipment of Marion.

Dave was an active member of the St. James United Brethren Church of Chambersburg. He was a 1962 graduate of St. Thomas High School. Following high school he enlisted in the US Navy serving for four years. He enjoyed camping and hunting.

Surviving family are his wife of 51 years Frances C. (Wentling) Ramer, one daughter Pamela Poper and husband Curtis of Greencastle, one son Brian Ramer and wife Deborah of Greencastle, two sisters, Dorothy Jones and husband Ronald, Debra Long and husband Mark, all of Chambersburg, two brothers, Richard Ramer and Jacob Ramer and wife Sharon all of Chambersburg, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 3 at 10:00 AM from the Antrim Brethren In Christ Church 24 Kauffman Rd. East Chambersburg with Revs. Murray Stevens and Ralph Fry officiating. Burial will be in the St. Thomas Cemetery, St Thomas, PA. The family will receive friends at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle on Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and at the church one hour before the service on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the St James United Brethren Church 2398 Warm Spring Rd. Chambersburg, PA 17202.
