David Phillip Dombrowsky

David Phillip Dombrowsky, Major, USAF Retired, age 68,  of Greencastle, PA, died Tuesday afternoon, May 25, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born March 13, 1953 in Monongahela, PA, he was the son of the late Phil and Betty Lou (Simpson) Dombrowsky. He married his wife Linda Sue (Deneen) Dombrowsky on September 2, 1972.

David spent 12 years as an enlisted Airman then spent the remaining 13 years as a commissioned Officer in the US Air Force, retiring after a 25 year career in 1996 as a Major, and was a veteran of Operation Desert Storm. He also worked as a Citibank manager and later served as a Franklin County Senior Center Manager, mostly in Mont Alto, PA.

He was a member of the Otterbein United Brethren Church of Greencastle and helped in the delivery of Meals on Wheels.  His hobbies and interests included hunting, fishing and going to his cabin. David was a graduate of Southern Fulton High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Management from the University of Northern Colorado.

Surviving family in addition to his wife are daughter, Kristene Mulka and husband Jerry of Greencastle and their sons JD Mulka and his fiancée Adrienne Glessner and Noah Mulka; daughter Rachel Wingert and husband Casey Cook of Chambersburg and their sons Briar Wingert, Levi Wingert and CJ Cook.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Kay Tinneny.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 2 at 11:00 AM at the Otterbein United Brethren Church 146 Leitersburg St. Greencastle with Pastor David Rawley officiating. There will be no public viewing but the family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 – 11:00 AM. A graveside service with military honors provided by the Fulton County Honor Guard will held on Thursday June 3 at 9:00 AM at the Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethren Cemetery in Needmore, PA with Pastor Roger Truax officiating. Online condolences may be expressed at www.zimmermanfh.com. Arrangements were made by the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home of Greencastle.
