Mr. David Carl Daugherty, 63, of Greencastle, died late Monday evening, May 14, 2012, at Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.
Born October 13, 1948, in Morgantown, West Virginia, he was a son of the late Charles Wilson and Grace Varner Daugherty.
He was a veteran of the United States Army.
Mr. Daugherty has been employed with the Herald Mail Company, since 1997, and previously with Citi Corp, both of Hagerstown, Maryland.
Surviving are his children, Mike Daugherty and wife Kacee of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Shelly Bayko, Heather Burcker, and Carla Werdebaugh and husband Dan, all of Greencastle, Pennsylvania; twelve grandchildren; as well as siblings Harry Daugherty of Warren, Ohio, Ruth Ross of Greenville, South Carolina, and Naomi Bowser of Mercer, Pennsylvania; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Mr. Daugherty was preceded in death by seven siblings.
The family will receive friends at the Harold M. Zimmerman & Son Funeral Home, 45 South Carlisle Street, Greencastle, Pennsylvania, on Friday evening, May 18, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Services and inurnment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
