Darlene K. Hurst

Darlene K. Hurst, age 79, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born in Chambersburg, PA on November 15, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Glen and Elsie Statler Oberholzer.

Mrs. Hurst was a 1963 graduate of the former St. Thomas High School. She worked as a bus driver for over 30 years, retiring in 2020. Mrs. Hurst was a member of Mt. Calvary Tabernacle in Williamson, PA. She cherished her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a fan of Tony Stewart, The Daystar Singers, and David Grove.

Surviving are three children, Travis L. Hurst of Chambersburg, PA, Tracey K. Sloat (husband Shane) of St. Thomas, PA, and Troy L. Hurst of St. Thomas, PA and seven grandchildren, Spencer, Bryce, Patrick, Madison, Chase, Lauren, and Gabrielle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Hurst in 1992, a son, Todd Hurst in infancy, and a brother, Denny Oberholzer.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 11 AM in the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA, where Pastor Matt Gordon will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, from 6 – 9 PM and one hour prior to the service on Thursday in the funeral home.
