Darlene B. (Brechbiel) Haugh

Darlene B. (Brechbiel) Haugh, age 73, of Wilkson Lane Fayetteville, PA died at 2:11 AM Sunday, June 29, 2014 in her home following a two month illness.
Born November 4, 1940 in Greencastle, PA, she was the daughter of the late Keller R. and Bessie (Brandt) Brechbiel. She married W. Lanny Haugh on December 17, 1958 in Greencastle.
Darlene graduated in 1958 from Greencastle-Antrim High School.

In her earlier years, Darlene was an executive secretary at Grove Mfg. Shady Grove and sold real estate at the former Copenhaver Reality and ERA Van Mater Reality. Then, she sold advertising for 92.1 Gold radio station and was last employed in sales for Squires Appliances of Chambersburg.
Darlene attended the Otterbein United Brethren Church of Greencastle. She was member of the American Business Women’s Association, member of the Red Hats Society where she served as Queen Mom and she was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She enjoyed gardening, reading, golfing, square dancing and antiquing. Along with her husband she participated in the Rescue Hose Co. #1 annual minstrel show.

Surviving family in addition to her husband are two daughters Lori H. Lashley and husband Thomas of Greencastle, Stacey D. Niedentohl and husband Jeffrey of Waynesboro, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, two brothers Robert K. Brechbiel and wife Mildred of Hagerstown, MD, Charles A. Brechbiel and wife Maxine of Upland, CA, two sisters, Jean Pilgrim and husband Robert of Fayetteville and Dorothy Spindler of Kent, Ohio.

In addition to her parents, Darlene was preceded in death by two brothers Jack Brechbiel and Richard Brechbiel.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday July 8 at 4:00 PM from the Otterbein United Brethren Church 146 Leitersburg St. Greencastle with Rev. David G. Rawley officiating. There will be a visitation with the family at the Otterbein Church on Tuesday from 2 – 4 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in her memory to the American Cancer Society 384 Floral Ave. Chambersburg, PA 17201.
