Danny C. Collins

Danny C. Collins, 79, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Friday, October 25, 2024 at his home. Born February 11, 1945 in Lincoln County, KY, he was the son of the late John Collins and Geneva Dugger Keucher. His wife of 44 years, Roberta Love Collins, whom he married on December 5, 1964, preceded him in death on December 15, 2008.

Danny was a graduate of Somerset High School in Somerset, KY. He was employed as a computer programmer for 41 years, first with Citi Bank, then CES, First Data, and finally with Fiserv. He was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and enjoyed reading, watching movies, and travelling to the Smokey Mountains and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

He is survived by two children, Chad Collins of Chambersburg, and Christi Collins of Sioux Falls, SD; two grandchildren, Emily Collins (Kobie Dunn) of Chambersburg, and Kaiden Huebner of Sioux Falls, SD; and one aunt, Pat Dugger of Amelia, OH. Aside from his wife and parents, Danny was preceded in death by two aunts, Alma Lovett and Allean Taylor; and one uncle, Ken Dugger.

Services and interment will be private. Interment will be in Somerset Cemetery, Somerset, KY at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Greencastle, PA. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Toys for Tots at toysfortots.org, Pennsylvania Bat Conservation and Rehabilitation at pabatrescue.org, or to a charity of one’s choice.
