Daniel E. Martin, age 69 of 13716 Cearfoss Pike Hagerstown, Md. died at 6:15 P.M. Tuesday, August 26, 2008 in his home.
Born May 11, 1939 in Edgemont, Washington County, Md., he was the son of the late John H. and Luella C. (Coss) Martin.
Mr. Martin was a salesman for the King Oil Co. of Hagerstown.
He was a member of Meadow View Mennonite Church near Hagerstown.
He and his wife, Elva H. (Petre) Martin were married January 30, 1960 in Hagerstown.
Surviving family in addition to his wife are:
Four daughters, Grace Martin and Faith Martin both of Hagerstown, Md., Charity Shaull, Cobb, Wisconsin and Hope Diller, Boonsboro, Md.
Four sons, Rufus Martin, Keedysville, Md., Simeon Martin, Greencastle, Pa., Philemon Martin, Eubank, Kentucky and Titus Martin, Smithsburg, Md.
Three sisters, Elva Petre, State Line, Pa., Lois Bates, Mt. Hermon, Kentucky, Naomi Strite, Williamsport, Md.
One brother, David Martin, Smithsburg, Md.
Thirty eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter
He was preceded in death by a daughter Joy Martin and a sister Martha Halteman.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday morning August 30 at 10:00 A.M. from the Meadow View Mennonite Church 17937 Rench Rd. Hagerstown, Md. with the Meadow View Mennonite Church Ministry officiating., Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 1:30 - 3:30 P.M. and 6 - 8 P.M. and one hour before the service on Saturday. The family requests that flowers be omitted. Arrangements were made by the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home.
