Constance Marie “Connie” Frank, age 73, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2024, at Mercy House in Chambersburg, PA. Born in Chambersburg, PA she was the daughter of the late Rev. Dr. Nelson H. and Kathryn Myers Frank.
Connie was a 1969 graduate of State College High School, 1972 graduate of Penn State University with her Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology, and 1980 graduate of the Former Hagerstown Junior College with a degree in nursing. Connie also received her teaching certificate from Shippensburg University in 1996. Connie worked as a registered nurse for over 20 years at the Waynesboro Hospital’s maternity ward. She was a long time member of the St. Paul United Methodist church in State College, PA and the Penn State Alumni Association. Locally she attended Christ United Methodist Church in Waynesboro, PA. Connie enjoyed Penn State football, running, her cats, Ferdinand, Kitty, and Callie, and taking walks in Renfrew and Memorial Parks in Waynesboro and City Park in Hagerstown. Anytime a friend or family member had a need, Connie was there to help. For many years, she cared for her mother Kathryn, who was also her best friend. Connie would recount with great detail family stories. If you wanted to know an exact date of a family event, Connie had it at the tip of her tongue.
Surviving are two siblings, Ramsey L. Frank of Waynesboro, PA and Doug N. Frank of Waynesboro, PA; a niece, Debra F. Turner (husband Todd) of Tampa, FL and nephew, Mark N. Frank (wife Lisa) of Waynesboro, PA; as well as 15 first cousins; and numerous grand and great-grand nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Frank Sepp.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 2 PM in the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc. 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA, where Rev. Dr. Karl Herman will officiate. The family will receive friends ½ hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Cedar Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Mercy House of Chambersburg, 730 Norland Avenue, Chambersburg, PA 17201, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
