Clyde W. "Bill" Burns, age 82 of State Line, Pa. died at 3:54 A.M. Saturday, November 28, 2009 in the Quincy Retirement Home.

Born August 18, 1927 in Rouzerville, Pa., he was the son of the late Clyde Wesley and Elnora S. (Mellott) Burns.
He retired from Mack Trucks Inc. of Hagerstown in 1987.

He and his wife, Margaret Ruth (Frazee) Burns were married Oct. 20, 1954. She died on January 29, 2000.

Bill was a life member of the Greencastle Sportsman Assoc. and Waynesboro Fish & Game, life member of the Harry D. Zeigler V.F.W. Post #6319 of Greencastle, member of the National and Penna. Huguenot Societies, member of the Fulton Co. and Waynesboro Historical Societies, member of the Mt. Pisgah Masonic Lodge #443 F. & A.M. of Greencastle and a member of the American Legion.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War with the rank of First Lieutenant . Bill was a 1946 graduate of Waynesboro High School.

Surviving family are one daughter Cindy Mathes of Shippensburg, Pa., three granddaughters and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday December 2 at 2:00 P.M. from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home of Greencastle with Pastor Eldon Martin officiating. Burial with military honors provided by the Chambersburg V.F.W. Honor Guard will be in the Harbaugh Church Cemetery near Rouzerville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the service on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society 384 Floral Ave. Chambersburg, Pa. 17201. The Greencastle V.F.W. will hold a memorial service at the funeral home on Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. Online condolences may be expressed at www.zimmermanfh.com.
