Clarence E. Keller, age 86 of 772 Buchanan Trail East Greencastle, Pa. died at 2:00 A.M. Tuesday November 20, 2007 in the Shook Home Chambersburg, Pa. where he was a resident for less than a day.
Born May 8, 1921 in Antrim Twp. Franklin County, Pa. he was the son of the late Floyd Thomas and Verna (Myers) Keller.
Mr. Keller was the owner of the former Keller''s Men''s and Boy''s Wear of Greencastle and in his earlier years he worked at the former Hershey Creamery in Greencastle. He was a member of the Greencastle Lions Club since 1968 where he had served as club secretary, chairman of the broom sales, Christmas tree sales, bowl-a-thon, served on the Antrim House Board Of Trustees for many years and was in charge of the rentals of the former "Lions Den." In June 2005, he received the Lions Melvin Jones Fellowship Award for his community service and club and committee service.
Mr. Keller was instrumental in the formation of the Greencastle Retail Merchants Association and served as chairman for 16 years. He served as president of the Greencastle-Antrim Chamber of Commerce for two years and has been an Old Home Week Association vice president for over 20 years. He is a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Greencastle and is a 47 year member of the Mt. Pisgah Lodge #443 F. & A.M. of Greencastle, a member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of Harrisburg , member of the Rescue Hose Co. #1 of Greencastle, a member of the Greencastle Sportsman Association and a member of the West End Hunting Club.
Mr. Keller was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II having served in the D-Day invasion where he was wounded and received the purple heart. He was a member of the Harry D. Zeigler V.F.W. Post #6319 and a member of the Frank L. Carbaugh American Legion Post #373 , both of Greencastle. He enjoyed golfing, hunting and bowling, having bowled in several leagues.

He was preceded in death by: brothers, Ernest "Pete" Keller, Ray "Jim" Keller, Clyde Keller, Lee Keller and John Keller and by sisters Catherine Harbaugh, Anna Myers and Hazel Myers.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday November 24 at 11:00 A.M. from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle Pa. with Rev. William W. DeHass officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle. The family will receive friends from 9 - 11 A.M. on Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the Trinity Lutheran Church, 1186 Jason Dr. Greencastle, Pa. 17225.
