Clara M. Barnes, age 86, a resident of the South Mountain Restoration Center South Mountain, Pa. for the past three years and formerly of State Line, Pa. died at 1:30 A.M. Sunday, February 22, 2009 in the center.
Born January 20, 1923 in Waynesboro, Pa. she was the daughter of the late Charles and Margie (Gorley) Walter.
She was a homemaker and a member of the St. Mark The Evangelist Catholic Church of Greencastle. She was a graduate of Waynesboro High School. Mrs. Barnes was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She and her husband, Paul E. "Tiny" Barnes were married March 1, 1941 in Hagerstown, Md. He died on March 11, 1998.

Daughters, Mary Ann Imes, Waynesboro, Pa., Peggy Stine, Marion, Pa., Roxann Black, State Line Pa., Ella Starr, State Line, Pa. and Paula Barnes, St. Thomas, Pa.
Sons, Ronald E. Barnes, Waynesboro, Pa., James E. Barnes, P. Jeffrey Barnes, Lee R. Barnes, all of Greencastle, Pa. and Donald G. Barnes, State Line, Pa.
One sister, Dorothy "Till" McLaughlin, Waynesboro, Pa.
Twenty-Three Grandchildren, Twenty-Two Great-Grandchildren
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Charles C. Walter Jr. and a great-granddaughter.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday February 24 at 1:00 P.M. from the St. Mark The Evangelist Catholic Church 385 South Ridge Ave. Greencastle with Rev. Joseph L. Stahura officiating . Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle. The family will receive friends this evening from 7 - 9 P.M. at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S.
