Charles "Charlie" Monn

Charles “Charlie” Monn, age 79, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at The Gardens of Gettysburg. Born in Waynesboro, PA on January 17, 1943, he was the son of the late Clarence and Marguerite Parncutt Monn.

Charlie worked at the former Grove Manufacturing for 42 years, retiring in 2010. He enjoyed hunting and was an avid NASCAR fan.

Surviving is his wife of 58 years, Gladys Goetz Monn, whom he married on October 8, 1963; two children, Jeff Monn of Waynesboro, PA and Brenda Witmer (husband Paul) of Greencastle, PA; three grandsons, Trevor, Jon Paul, and Tyler; three great-grandchildren, Kinsley, Weston, and Lydia; and two siblings, Jean Baker of Fayetteville, PA and Joyce Monn of Waynesboro, PA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at 11 AM in the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA, where Rev. Ray Kipe will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
