Charles J. Gentile

Charles J. Gentile, age 85, of Greencastle, PA died early Sunday morning November 20, 2016 in the Chambersburg Hospital.

Born November 11, 1931 in Greensburg, PA, he was the son of the late Charles and Josephine (LaFuria) Gentile. He married Catherine Sylvia (Kuchta) Gentile on September 2, 1950. She died on December 28, 2011.

Mr. Gentile and his wife settled in State Line, PA and he worked as a supervisor at Mack Truck of Hagerstown. Following his retirement, he moved to Greencastle. He enjoyed traveling, wintering in Florida for a number of years and being with his grandchildren.
He was a member of the St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church of Greencastle.

Surviving family are one daughter Cathy A.  Barnes and husband Donald of State Line, PA, two sons, Robert L. Gentile and wife Debra of Greencastle, Ronald E. Gentile and wife Sheryl of State Line, PA, seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a sister Dolly Shifko of Greensburg, PA.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son Charles D. “Chuck” Gentile on April 13, 2015.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday November 23 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church 385 S. Ridge Ave. Greencastle with Father Kyle Sahd officiating.  Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM    at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S.
