Charles A. "Bud" Eichelberger, age 82 of 766 Clayhill Rd. Chambersburg died at 2:30 A.M. Saturday December 19, 2009 in his home following a lengthy illness.

Born April 12, 1927 in Hagerstown, Md. he was the son of the late Albert Eyler and Anna Elizabeth (Snyder) Eichelberger.

He was a self-employed plumber since 1962 and also enjoyed raising Black Angus cattle. Bud was a charter member of the Plumbers & Steamfitters Local #769, served on the Hagerstown Plumbing Board fro 21 years and was a master plumber since 1950.

He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Greencastle and formerly was a member of the St. Marks Lutheran Church of Hagerstown.
Bud was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a life member of the Harry D. Zeigler V.F.W. Post #6319, member of the Frank L. Carbaugh American Legion Post #373, both of Greencastle and a member of the Moose Club of Waynesboro Lodge #1191.

Surviving family are his wife, Margaret "Peggy" (Miller) Eichelberger, whom he married on February 3, 1951, sons Charles A. Eichelberger Jr. and his wife Penny, Garry L. Eichelberger and his wife Debbie, daughter Brenda L. McQuait and her husband John, all of Greencastle, brother Warren S. Eichelberger, Greencastle, half-sister Geraldine Bussard, Woodstock, Md., three grandsons, three granddaughters and two great granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by a son Charles Ralph Eichelberger and a sister Phyllis Knepper.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday December 22 at 2:00 P.M. from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home of Greencastle with Rev., William W. DeHass officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery Greencastle. The family will recieve friends at the funeral home one hour before the service on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be given to Lutheran Home Care And Hospice 2700 Luther Dr. Chambersburg, Pa. 17202. The Greencastle V.F.W will hold a memorial service just prior to the funeral service on Tuesday. Online condolences may be given at www.zimmermanfh.com
