Carroll L. Young, age 62 of Joann Dr. Greencastle, PA died unexpectedly early Monday morning October 19, 2015 in his home.
Born July 24, 1953 in Waynesboro, PA, he was the son of the late Harold G. and Eleanor R. (Shafer) Young. He married his wife Donna L. (Kuhn) Young in 1973.
Carroll had worked at Grove Manufacturing in Shady Grove and retired from Mack Trucks of Hagerstown after working there and also in Winnsboro, SC. He was a life member of the Marion Volunteer Fire Co. and served 20 years in the Lebanon Fire Dept. and Rescue Squad in Winnsboro, SC.
Carroll was a member of the Moose Club in Cayce, SC and a social member of the Greencastle V.F.W. and American Legion. He loved riding his Harley motorcycle and was a member of the Legion Riders of Greencastle. He was a 1972 graduate of Greencastle-Antrim High School and attended the Franklin County Vo-Tech School. Carroll was an Eagle Scout and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Surviving family in addition to his wife are one daughter, Amy Olding and her spouse Donald of Greencastle, one son, Shane Young and his spouse Kristy Johnson of Winnsboro, SC, five grandchildren, Curt, Ava, Ethan, Cody , Steven, and one brother Wayne Young of Greencastle.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 22 at 3:00 PM at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Pastor Leon Yoder officiating.
