Carrie "Lu" L. Blair

Carrie L. “Lu” Blair, age 89, of Greencastle, PA, passed away on May 30, 2024, at Quincy Village Nursing Home. Born June 19, 1934, at Anderson’s Mill in Mercersburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Mabel Diffenderfer Anderson.

Mrs. Blair was a homemaker most of her adult life. She was a long-time member of the former Pleasant Hill United Brethren Church. Mrs. Blair enjoyed the Greencastle Senior Center, gardening and of course her flowers.

Surviving is her beloved husband, John E. Blair, whom she married on January 31, 1959; five children, William Blair (wife Brenda), Edward Blair (wife Cindy), Randall Blair (wife Robin), Timothy Blair (wife Alison), and Rebecca Shubert (husband Mark) all of Greencastle, PA; twelve grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and five siblings, Dorothy Rebok, Eleanor Stoner, and Rollie, Ray, and Harry Anderson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Diana Klick and five siblings, Polly Harmon, Kate Stouffer, Ruth Miller, and John and Sam Anderson.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at 10 AM in the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA 17225 where Pastors John Shubert and Gayle Ruble will officiate. The family will receive friends at the above funeral home and address on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, from 6 – 8 PM and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Interment will be private in the Grand Point Greencastle Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to SpiriTrust Lutheran Hospice, 2700 Luther Dr., Chambersburg PA 17202. Livestream the service at the link below.
