Carlton E. Lutz, age 85 of 239 South Allison St. Greencastle, PA. died at 11:15 P.M. Monday, July 18, 2011 in his home following a brief illness.

Born February 10, 1926 in Duryea, PA., he was the son of the late Albert Clay and Emily Pauline (Rudy) Lutz.

Carlton was employed by the Greencastle-Antrim School District from 1954 - 1987 as a health and physical education teacher and also as a driver''s education instructor.

He was a member of the Greencastle Presbyterian Church where he had served as trustee, member of the Greencastle-Antrim Education Association, Pennsylvania State Education Association Retired, National Education Association Retired and the Pennsylvania Association of Safety Educators. Carlton coached baseball at Greencastle-Antrim High School for 18 years. He was a 1944 graduate of Moosic High School and a 1954 graduate of East Stroudsburg University where he was a member of the university''s alumni association. Carlton was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He married Charlotte (Sloat) Lutz on December 24, 1955 in Lancaster, PA. She died on June 27, 2010. Surviving family are three sons, George Albert Lutz, West Milford, N.J., Wayne C. Lutz, Greencastle, David E. and wife Kimberly Lutz, Greencastle, two grandchildren Courtnie and Carter. He was preceded in death by a brother George A. Lutz and two sisters Sereta P. Brown and Catherine E. Lutz.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday July 23 at 11:00 A.M. from the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle with Rev. Alan Wilson officiating. There will be no public viewing but the family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in his memory to the Greencastle Presbyterian Church 57 West Baltimore St. Greencastle, PA. 17225 or Lilian S.
