Carla Dianne Wright, age 68, of Greencastle, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 14, 2022, at her home. Born October 29, 1953, in Waynesboro, PA, she was the daughter of the late Arno Max and Rose Marie Potter Kuykendall and raised by Clark and Alice Elliott.
Carla was a 1971 graduate of Greencastle-Antrim Senior High School. She retired from Manitowoc in 2019 after 46 years of service holding many positions, last position being an RFQ Administrator. She was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter #519 and the Greencastle First United Methodist Church. Carla was also a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation, participated in Relay for Life, and Basket Alley, and had a special place in her heart for the history of Greencastle and the Old Home Week celebration; sharing her sidewalk for parade viewing and decorating the Nearly New Shop window display with her very own vintage antiques. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and spending time with family especially after becoming a Nana.
Surviving is her husband of 40 years, Dale Wright, whom she married on March 28, 1981; son Michael C. Wright (wife Vanessa); step-daughters, Stephanie Brumbaugh and Stacy Wright; grandson, Grayson Wright; step-granddaughters, Mara and Jenna Brumbaugh; siblings, Vicky Wade, Curt Kuykendall, Kathy Lundquist, and Marcy Buchanan; cherished family members, Marley and Frank “Bud” Walck; and special sisters, Dana Rogers and Pam Landis.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at 10 AM in the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., 45 South Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA, where Rev. Dr. A. Robert Cook will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 19 from 6 – 8 PM and one hour prior to the funeral in the funeral home. For the safety of everyone in attendance, the family encourages the use of masks. Interment will follow the service in Cedar Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Friends of Michaux State Forest to support the establishment of wildflower meadows at the Bunker Hill and Camp MIchaux wildflower meadow project and Old Forge Picnic Area.
