Brenda Rae (Smith) Uccellini, age 62 of Greencastle, PA died at 8:32 P.M. on Sunday, May 9, 2010 in the Waynesboro Hospital.
Born, February 23, 1948 in Chambersburg, PA she was the daughter of the late Harold and Myrtle Rae (Houpt) Smith.
She and her husband, Frederick W. Uccellini Jr. were married on August 14, 1971 in Greencastle, PA.
Mrs. Uccellini was employed for the last 15 years as a supervisor with Ingram Book in Chambersburg. She was a graduate of James Buchanan High School and the Hagerstown Business College.
Brenda was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Mercersburg where she was a deacon, financial secretary, in charge of the nursery for 10 years and taught Sunday school for 40 years. She was a member and past president of the Greencastle Lioness Club and was named Lioness of the Year for 2004-2005. She was active in the ABWA, Red Hat Society and Loyal Daughters all of Greencastle. She was a member of the Mercersburg VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the McConnellsburg Eastern Star. She was on the planning committee for the Relay for Life in Greencastle.
Surviving family in addition to her husband are one son, Frederick W. & Wife Kristen M. Uccellini III of Greencastle; one brother, Harold "Jay" & Wife Joan Smith Jr. of Chambersburg; and two grandchildren, Madison Marie and Kaitlyn Elizabeth Uccellini.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 14, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. from the Trinity United Church of Christ, 129 E. Seminary St., Mercersburg with Pastor Matt Hoover officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle. A luncheon will be provided following the graveside service at the church. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. at the Harold M. Zimmerman & Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 384 Floral Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201 or to the Antietam Humane Society, 8513 Lyons Rd., Waynesboro, PA 17268.
